Travis Barker just dropped this mixtape hosted by DJ Whoo Kid to build anticipation for his solo debut, Give The Drummer Some. For those unaware, mixtape’s title is taken from “Welcome To The Terrordome” by Public Enemy.
The Lloyd Banks/Fabolous collabo, “Perfect Match,” is probably the hottest song on Let The Drummer Get Wicked…Wiz Khalifa’s “Champagne” gives it a run for its money though. “Never Holdin Me Back” is actually ill because Travis Barker’s production varies from his usual hard-rocking style…plus J. Cole’s a talented emcee. The same can be said for “Something” featuring Big K.R.I.T.
Lupe Fiasco really shines through on the hard-hitting mash-up “Joaquin Phoenix,” which is unsurprising due to his involvement with the rock group, Japanese Cartoon. By the way, the remix of Kanye and Jay-Z’s “H.A.M.” is better than original.
