So here is the stream of Diz Gibran‘s mixtape Soon You’ll Understand mixtape.  It’s kind of unfair to call this a mixtape, because it’s really a free album.  The download drops on April 7th, but I wanted to give you a heads up on how it’s going to sound.  Diz also has the co-sign of one of my personal favorite burgeoning street brands Crooks & Castles.  For those of you that don’t know Diz is from LA, and it’s officially time for you to get familar with him.  He kind of represents a new class of west coast artists that are really holding it down.  Notably Diz, Pac Div, Fashawn, and Blu are a bunch of west coast dudes that have me habitually doing double takes.  There are a lot of people out there complaining about the quality of hip-hop these days and they need to shut the fuck up.  If you feel that way, you obviously aren’t looking in the right places.  Diz represents that straight spit style of rapping, but it’s not 96 so he obviously has a modernized sound.  Moonshine produced the whole thing, so big shouts to him.  Moon makes really reflective beats if that makes any sense.  I find myself sparking a blunt and zoning out to his production while I let Diz take me on a lyrical journey.  This shit is just dope, and I co-sign it.  Be sure to cop the download here next Tuesday.  Peace.
