NFL Game of the Week: Week 1

Week 1 of the NFL season officially starts tonight with the Tennessee Titans playing at the Super Bowl Champion Pittsburgh Steelers.  While Titans–Steelers is a decent matchup, it doesn’t come close to some of the intense rivalry games that open the NFL 2009 schedule this Sunday.  Jacksonville v. Indianapolis should be a good test for both teams, looking to start their seasons strong. Eagles v. Panthers should bring a lot of excitement, with Carolina’s defense looking to stop McNabb and the impressive Eagles.  For me, the game of the week is the New York Giants v. Washington Redskins. Any time these NFC East rivals get together, it is always a grinding battle that is as intense for the fans as it is for the teams.  The Giants and Redskins truly dislike each other, and it should be fun to watch them go at it on opening day.
