N.O.R.E. called in to Power 105.1 this morning to respond to leaked excerpts from Mobb Deep member Prodigy’s book, My Infamous Life, that claim N.O.R.E. was jumped and robbed by the Infamous Mobb in the mid ’90s. N.O.R.E admitted that he couldn’t scrap back in the day, but claimed “back then N.O.R.E. was a shooter.” He went on to jokingly call Prodigy a “dry snitch,” before saying, “he’s throwing a couple of jabs; that’s hot.”
He then went on to question the validity of P’s claim that Capone of CNN snitched on Havoc’s brother in court. “Capone’s a grown man…I wasn’t there…but if that’s the case, then why are there 7 Mobb Deep/CNN records that exist?” He went on to say that if Capone was really snitching, there is no way Hav and P would continuously get into the studio with him.
Noreaga also talked to MTV to dispute the circumstances about the passage in Prodigy’s book where it says he was jumped. “I did get jumped. They jumped me with 40 people,” he recalled. “If you ever see 40 people jump on one man, that one man never gets touched, because most of those 40 people are hitting each other.” I don’t know about that one, but N.O.R.E again defended himself by saying, “I understand he’s trying to sell a book, but the way the Internet is wording it, they’re wording it like N.O.R.E. got jumped and they’re not saying the consequences that happened afterward.” He went on to say “I never got robbed in my life,” referring to the claim that Ty Nitty stole his chain. Noreaga then stated that he retaliated by blasting a 9mm, not a TEC, at Ty. N.O.R.E. also cleared the air and said that there’s no beef between him and P. “We’re cool. We speak,” said the CNN member. Believe it or not, Prodigy recently approached N.O.R.E. to tell him that he only had positive things to say about him in the book.
