Looks like MTV is trying their hand at the celeb-reality competition shows,  but with an MTV-style. On August 30, the channel will premiere its new show, “Celebrity Rap Superstar.” The show follows eight rappers, who will include Tone Loc, Warren G,  and Paul Wall who try to train eight celebrities, one of them superstar blogger Perez Hilton, for eight weeks. Every week the contestants will perform covers of rap hits, write and perform their own rhymes and compete in freestyle competitions in front of a panel of judges and live audience.

After each week’s performance the audience will vote for their favorite performance, and the celeb with the least amount of votes will be eliminated. Similar to Dancing with the Stars, the celeb emcee left standing will come out on top as a Celebrity Rap Superstar. Fans can go to MTV.com to get info on the show, the cast and behind the scenes drama.
