In the early morning hours of Christmas Eve, Jamal “Capital Steez” Dewar sent his followers a cryptically eerie tweet, reading “the end.”  Within the hours to follow, it was confirmed that Steez was in fact dead from a possible suicide.  Steez, a member of Joey Bada$$’ Pro Era crew, is best known for his show-stealing performance on the track “Survival Tactics,” which would later appear on his debut mixtape, AmeriKKKan Korruption.  He was also featured on several songs from Joey Bada$$’ seminal mixtape, 1999. It is believed that Steez’s death was unforeseen as the Pro Era crew dropped a mixtape via Tumblr two days ago.

This unfortunate xmas eve.. Lost a best friend, a brother, a pro, a partner. Letting go is never easy.. May ur soul rest in peace Jamal” tweeted Joey Bada$$, who later released a tweet to commemorate the life and passing of Steez.

The exact cause of death has not been released as of press time, but it has been widely speculated that Steez’s death was an apparent suicide.  Our condolences go out to the family of Capital Steez.
