Queen Latifah announced that there’s less than a month left to nominate women who you think are inspiring women by helping them gain confidence and self-esteem through community education, fund-raising, self-empowerment and volunteer programs. Latifah is working with the Curvation Confidence Awards, a program that recognizes women who personify and project the power of confidence. November 3 is the deadline for nominations which can be submitted to Curvation.

"I was extremely inspired by the entries we received last year of extraordinary women who were, and still are, making a difference in other women’s lives everyday," said Queen Latifah, who is also the spokesperson for VF Intimates’ Curvation brand of intimate apparel. "I am thrilled to be able to honor more unsung heroes and I encourage people to nominate the remarkable women they know. I was taught to believe in myself at an early age by strong, independent women like my mother and grandmother, and want to pass this message on to others. Building women’s confidence gives them the strength to live more fulfilling lives.”

Five finalists will be chosen by Latifah and a panel of experts. Each finalist will receive a $3,000 grant towards their program or cause that they work with and one national award recipient will receive an additional $10,000. All the finalists will be recognized at a luncheon in New York hosted by Queen Latifah in early 2007.
