Check out this video of the legendary Lee Quinones discussing the evolution of his art and the New York graffiti scene. Quinones, raised in the Lower East Side, is arguably the most influential artist to emerge from the New York City subway art movement, having painted upwards of 115 Subway cars throughout the MTA system. Quinones also joined The Fabulous Five who managed to graffiti the only running 10-car train painted top to bottom, end to end which ran in November 1976. In this video Quinones also describes how he influenced the hip hop music scene by stealing records with a friend and giving them to up and coming hip hop DJs. Spotted at MI.
