In a little over a month, “The Chef” Raekwon will serve up his latest dish, Shaolin vs. Wu-Tang. On “Rock N Roll,” Rae takes a departure from the style found on Only Built 4 Cuban Linx…Pt 2. This song lives up to its title in the sense that it’s very glamorous, making this Chef/GFK/Capo callabo an undeniable banger. If you didn’t get the picture from the “vs.” in the album title, half of the project will be in the vein of classic Wu-Tang releases and the other half will sound more like this. Shaolin vs. Wu-Tang drops March 8th and features guest appearances from Nas, Rick Ross, Black Thought, Method Man, Ghostface Killah, Busta Rhymes, Inspectah Deck, and more.
Also peep this trailer for Rae’s upcoming music video, “Shaolin vs. Wu-Tang.” The trailer indicates that the visuals accompanying the album’s opener are similar in style “House Of Flying Daggers,” so I’m not complaining.
