Rappers aren’t the only ones getting caught with guns these days.  The executives are as well.  These NY gun laws don’t play, so you better have your gun on the legal tip.  Maybe he was scared Nina Sky was going to run up on him and do something.  According to the NYDailyNews:

  • A big-time hip-hop executive – who discovered rap stars like Lil’ Jon and the East Side Boyz – was charged Wednesday for driving through Manhattan with a loaded gun in his car.

Bryan Leach, 41, was pulled over while driving erratically on the upper West Side at 12:40 p.m. Tuesday, according to a complaint unsealed in Manhattan Criminal Court.

Leach stopped at the corner of W. 72nd St. and Riverside Dr. and police approached, spotting a .380 Kel-Tec handgun on the front seat, prosecutors charged.

The gun was loaded with six hollow-point bullets, prosecutors said.

Leach was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon and reckless driving, officials said.

A Harlem native, Leach, signed crunk artists like Lil’ Jon and the Ying Yang Twins and later founded the Polo Grounds Music label.

That label was eventually absorbed by J Records, which was founded by the legendary Clive Davis and featurs major stars like Alicia Keys, D’Angelo and Jamie Foxx.

In a recent interview, Leach billed himself as a Senior Vice President of J Records. The label did not immediately return calls for comment.

In March, Leach’s personal contact information was broadcast on Twitter by rap group Nina Sky, which was unhappy that Polo Grounds Records had not distributed their most recent album.
