Red Gone Wild, the long-awaited album by Redman, has been in the works for about 5 years now. It’s been delayed so much, to the point where rap fans wonder if it’ll ever see the light of day. The good news is that Def Jam has issued an official release date of March 27th, 2007 for Red Gone Wild.

Erick Sermon, Scott Storch, Timbaland, and Rockwilder will lend production to Red Gone Wild. Special appearances by Redman’s cousin Method Man (of the Wu-Tang Clan), Erick Sermon and Keith Murray, Snoop Dogg, Nate Dogg, and Biz Markie are in place.

The Timbaland-laced first single, “Put It Down,” has been making rounds on the internet lately. It’ll be officially dispatched to urban radio on February 26th.

After releasing his gold-certified 5th album, Malpractice (2001), Red kept busy by making TV appearances. He co-hosted “Stung” and the forgettable FOX sitcom “Method & Red” with Method Man. Since then, he has also dropped two solid mixtapes: Ill At Will vol.2 and Live from the Gilla House.
