The multitalented Rich Brian is funny, musically gifted, and… a figure skater?
Rich Brian has undergone relatively intense artistic transformation. The 18-year-old Vietnamese rhymer recently substituted his former moniker, Rich Chigga, in exchange for his government name ahead of his debut album release, Amen. One of the project’s standout tracks, “Cold”, just received the visual treatment–and just like Rich Brian’s artistic aesthetic, it is anything but conventional.
Just in time for the last week of the Winter Olympics, Rich Brian pays homage to the global even by channeling his figure skating self. Donned in a black skin-tight suit accented by feathers, the “Cold” video is the perfect Rich Brian microcosm: the ideal melding of comedy and musical talent. While it’s difficult to take him seriously wearing this outfit, we’re reminded that he is a pure artist–one unafraid of taking risks; one who never sacrifices his integrity for external validation.
