Damn, go away for a couple of days and the first e mails in my in box when I get back are all to do with Rick Ross. Lyrics from his Deeper than Rap album, which leaked to the net last week CLICK TO READ REVIEW have upset former label mate and fellow Miami rapper Trick Daddy after a line from his Valley of Death implies that Trick Daddy’s alleged battle with Lupus is a cover up for him actually having AIDS. Now the line doesn’t necessarily implicate Ross as being the official source of the story but rather someone who Ross corresponds with who is behind bars. Now that is easy to believe as with his track record on the inside I am sure Ross has made plenty of so called friends from back in his CO days, but still Trick Daddy with AIDS…very low blow.
In response to the line this is what Trick had to say “I have stayed out of the bullsh–, I will continue to stay out of it. Ross had been with Slip-N-Slide Records as long as I have been with Slip-N-Slide Records. He’s known I’ve had lupus for 10 years. I was referred to my doctor by Ted Lucas who is the head of Slip-N-Slide Records. I would like to apologize to everyone suffering with lupus. I would like to apologize for the insults.”
Then in an interview on Hot 97 Rick Ross said Eminem’s swag ‘just isn’t what it used to be.’ Considering Ross was frothing at the mouth only two weeks ago about working with Dre and Eminem, not sure if that is the right way to go around getting someone’s attention Ricky or even getting on their good side. But on the flip side of all this drama and scandal surrounding Miami’s boss, his Deeper than Rap album is actually his best offering to date, let’s just hope the drama subsides for a minute so he can sit back and enjoy the glory.
Deeper than Rap hits stores tomorrow.
