Fresh out of rehab, once elite producer Scott Storch, is ready to make his comeback. Storch’s money problems became evident after a very public bankruptcy and $10 Million dollar Palm Beach mansion being in danger of foreclosure. Storch acquired his empire by producing hits for a variety of artists including: The Roots, Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, Fat Joe, Ja Rule, Mariah Carey, Toni Braxton, Jadakiss, Eminem, Nas, T.I.,Young Buck, Lil Wayne, Nelly, Beyoncé, Ras Kass, 50 Cent just to name a few. In his recent interview with Details Magazine, he revealed how his addiction to cocaine and lavish spending habits dissolved his once $70 million dollar music production empire.
“I was clubbing, drunk, and had more money than I knew what to do with. We’d be at a club and I’d decide to take everyone to Las Vegas. Do more coke, f**k a bunch of girls. Be up for two days and decide at 11AM in the morning to go buy a Rolls-Royce. I probably bought 10 cars when I was high.”
“I was burning through about $250,000 a month, mostly on partying. I was spending money I had no business spending,” he stated.
Aside from the money issues, Storch is now trying to resurrect his career and attempting to rebuild his industry reputation. He’s recently secured productions for Usher, Gucci Mane, and Jennifer Hudson; and has already placed production for The Game, Ludacris, NeYo, Mario and Robin Thicke.
