Just a few years ago, Slim Thug was on the tip of a lot of tongues, and hip-hop fans from all over patiently anticipated his debut album alongside producer and singer extraordinare Pharrell Williams. At the time, Pharrell signed Slim Thug to his Star Trak imprint, under Interscope, and Slim prepped a feature heavy album with several tracks produced by Skateboard P. The album, entitled Already Platinum, did pretty well, and convinced hip-hop fans that Slim Thug was here to stay. However, two years and a pretty steep fall from fame later, Slim Thug is prepping his new album, entitled Boss of All Bosses. The album will be distributed by independent label Koch, instead of Slim Thug’s former home – Star Trak Records. Look for the album, which is due out in October, to see if Slim can stay a boss without Pharrell’s trusty production.
