King of the west coast,  Snoop Dogg has announced his plan to revive the west coast hip hop scene. Snoop, if you didn’t know, is the Creative Chairman of Priority Records. Snoop sent out a press release informing people of his intent. Snoop plans to revive Priorty Records by re-releasing classic music from Priority’s catalog. A greatest hits album will be titled USDA Uncut Snoop Dogg Approved and will feature the music of  Master P, Ice Cube, N.W.A and others.  The West Coast Blueprint is another compilation that Snoop feels will show the world what Priority is about. Snoop‘s first act to offically come out signed under him as Chairman is the legendary group Cypress Hill, and Rise Up, which will be the group’s first major release in six years, is scheduled to hit stores April 6.

“My role as Creative Chairman of Priority Records has put me in the driver’s seat to help revive the most important West Coast hip-hop label….. As such, I’m excited to announce my first signing as Cypress Hill. Cypress Hill is undeniably one of the most important hip-hop groups in music history, not only are they incredibly talented and the first Latino hip-hop group to go platinum, they are also from the West Coast- so this signing is the perfect marriage.”
