An interesting combination that yields great results.
Coming off her very impressive debut studio album, Ctrl, it seems that everything SZA touches turns to gold. It looks like her Midas touch continues with her latest feature on the Maroon 5 track, “What Lovers Do”.
Both acts have a penchant for delicately playing with melodies to create serene, vibey music that hits way more often than misses. SZA and Maroon 5 might seemingly be relegated to different genres, but they actually harbor similar musical qualities while still offering different accents to create a diverse, fun track. Adam Levine and SZA exchange airy verses over the light, upbeat EDM-sounding production that will be as comfortable on the boat as it will be at a pregame.
Just in time for Labor Day, “What Lovers Do” will be a great addition to that weekend playlist. Stream the track below:
