A-Trak “Piss Test” Feat. Juicy J & Danny Brown

piss-test

A-Trak (DJ, producer, and co-founder of Fool’s Gold) teams with Three 6 Mafia’s Juicy J and Detroit rapper Danny Brown on “Piss Test.” This track is the first record off of Fool’s Gold Records’ upcoming compilation, Loosies. Though Juicy J and Danny Brown have very different styles they both fit well on A-Trak’s production. “Piss Test”  A-Trak ft Juicy J & Danny Brown – Stream

Video: “Gucci Rag Top” Ft Danny Brown

Check out the visuals from Kid Sister’s “Gucci Rag Top (Remix” with a feature from Danny Brown. Pretty cool video concept with the song lyrics echoed in the background, but no Gucci rag tops in the whole video? Regardless Danny Brown kills it with a real unique sound. .

Kid Sister & Pharrell Collabo??

Chicago-bred MC Kid Sister is making quite a splash recently, after being featured in GIANT Magazine, Vibe Magazine and on the cover of URB. Kid Sis got her first claim to fame after she made a track with Kanye West, entitled “Pro Nails,” which was then featured on Kanye’s “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” Mixtape. She’s since released “Control” and several remixes to both tracks. Her album is due out in October, and she’s teaming up with some great artists and producers for her debut. With friends and family in high places (her cousin is J2K of Flosstradamus and her boyfriend is DJ A-Trak), Kid Sis is set to take over the female hip-hop genre. Word is, she was recently in my hometown, Miami, recording with our very own Pharrell Williams. This would definitely be a good look for both sides, so stay tuned to hear what they come up with. For now, download Kid Sister’s “Pro Nails” below. Kid Sister – “Pro Nails”

Nick Catchdubs drops “Slick”

Nick Catchdubs, co-founder of Fool’s Gold Records, is blowing up. After handling the mixing duties for both of Wale’s mixtapes, Catchdubs is set to release a mixtape with Timbaland’s new artist, Izza Kizza, tomorrow. Catchdubs is a DJ first and foremost (a dope one at that) and is currently working on transitioning into the production realm. After meeting DJ A-Trak several years ago, they founded Fool’s Gold Records, which currently houses some of house music’s hottest DJ’s, rapper Kid Sister and newcomer Kid Cudi. Catchdubs has consequently aligned himself with some of the best new hip-hop, and is finally making a name for himself in the genre. To commemorate this, he’s released a brand-new promo mixtape, entitled Slick. The mix is 20-tracks long, but in true DJ fashion, has no tracks or breaks. It is simply a 59-minute mix of everything from old to new and from hip-hop to dancehall to electro. Download the mix here and let us know what you think of Catchdubs.   Nick Catchdubs – Slick

Alternative Pick: New Chromeo Video!

If you’re unfamiliar with “electrofunk” group Chromeo, you better ask somebody. Chromeo is based out of Canada and is comprised of Dave 1 (phenomenal DJ and brother of DJ A-Trak) and P-Thugg. The two met in Canada, where they were born and raised, and founded what they call the “only successful Arab/Jew partnership since the dawn of human culture.” The duo has recently released their second album, entitled Fancy Footwork on Vice Records, which features singles “Fancy Footwork” and “Momma’s Boy.” I’ve spent quite a bit of time on the group’s MySpace, and though such a place is not always the most credible of sources for an album’s description, theirs is likely the most unique and hilarious I’ve ever read: “Chromeo, the band reborn…the sex, the beats, the dream the suits, the gloves, the laughs, the tears, the past and the future. All rolled up into one big blunt, smoked up through P’s talkbox tube and exhaled into your brain. Enjoy.” Definitely a dope album that you should pick up, and for now, check out the video for “Momma’s Boy.” Oh, and also check out the brand-new Fancy Fancier Footwork, featuring remixes and fresh material from the duo. Chromeo – “Momma’s Boy” Video

Kid Cudi Releases Debut Mixtape

Rapper Kid Cudi is slowly plotting his takeover of hip-hop with his clever, slow raps and his introspective singing. Cudi is originally from Ohio before he moved to NYC, and he is currently signed to A-Trak’s label, Fool’s Gold Records. After releasing a few tracks to the Internet over the past months, Cudi has even gained the respect of Kanye West, as he called Cudi the “Best New Artist” on his personal blog.Download his 10 Deep-sponsored mixtape here: http://sharebee.com/7e3ff6d8
