Southpaw, one of the most infamous venues in all of New York City, located in Park Slope, Brooklyn, hosted one of its final hip-hop shows on February 9, 2011. The show was headlined by Action Bronson and featured performances by Mr. Mutherf*ckin eXquire, Kyle Rapps and Soul Khan, as well as special guest appearances by acclaimed producer and spitter El-P, Smoke DZA, Despot, and many more. This has to be one of the craziest, most random meeting of the minds put down on wax as of late, but don’t judge a book by its cover … or a record by the fact MTV’s “From G’s to Gents” RiFF RaFF is on it. I give anything with Action Bronson — and most recently Harry Fraud (who produced this jam) — a spin, but I honestly wrote this off as soon as I saw the Albanian spitter Tweet about it this AM. But what do you know? It goes hard and somehow works.
