Rick Ross’ eight studio album Black Market is set to drop tomorrow (Dec. 4th) and he recently shared “Color Money,” which has been perceived to be a Drake diss. Today, during an interview on Power 105.1 FM’s “The Breakfast Club,” Rozay talked about the track. When asked, “Are you taking shots at Drake on ‘Color Money’?” Ross was quick to respond: “I just released ‘Color Money’ and that record is what it is. It’s a lot of people that’s gonna interpret it a lot of different ways.” He also talked about Lil Wayne’s beef with Birdman, and shared his thoughts about ghostwriting. Check out the full, half hour long interview with Rick Ross after the jump.
After dropping his all-around great retail mixtape Barter 6 a few weeks back (read my review here) Young Thug returns with some new heat. “Love Me Forever” finds Thugger reunited with ATLien producer London on da Track and although it’s uncertain whether or not this track will appear on Thug’s forthcoming debut album HiTunes this track is sure to give fans something to enjoy in the meantime. Check out Young Thug’s “Love Me Forever” after the jump.
The recent situation between Young Thug and Lil Wayne is escalating albeit in a confusing manner. Here’s the breakdown: Lil Wayne doesn’t want to be part of Birdman’s YMCMB, Wayne’s highly-anticipated studio album Tha Carter V is put on hold, Young Thug is putting out his debut album entitled Carter 6 in tribute to Wayne, Wayne doesn’t like it and calls out Thug, Thug responds by saying he doesn’t want any problems and reiterates that the newly titled Barter 6 is a tribute to Wayne. Did you get all of that? Good. Now, T.I. decided to share his thoughts on the matter with DJ Whoo Kid. Find out in the clip after the jump.
With Lil Wayne, presumably Drake and Nicki Minaj and Rich Homie Quan now out it looks as if Birdman’s fullest attention is on New Atlanta’s superstar Young Thug. Thugger will be releasing Carter 6 later this year and with “Halftime,” “Beat It” and “Just Might Be” out the album is shaping out to be pretty dope thus far. And here Thugger is sharing “Check” another track that is said to appear on the forthcoming debut album. In the video Thugger and crew are just kicking back and having a good time on the Rich Gang tour bus. Check it after the jump!
Rich Homie Quan recently announced that he is officially splitting from Rich Gang (Young Thug and Birdman, being the other two members at the moment) to focus on his own brand. Quan didn’t exactly reveal any juicy details as to why, given his rapport with fellow Atlantan (and self-proclaimed “brother”) Young Thug. Could this be Rich Homie Quan’s answer to the recent, highly publicized squabble between Lil Wayne and Birdman? Who knows. There is no real, definitive answer as Quan has wisely kept his lips sealed on the matter. However, it’s worth noting that as soon as word got out about Quan’s departure a song entitled “My Homie” surfaced online. The song, as the internet collectively has noted is ironic, with both Quan and Thugger being on the track together. But we doubt there’s any beef, so to speak, between Rich Homie Quan and Young Thug, and we can probably expect more collaborations between the two. Anyway, enough gossip, check out “My Homie” after the jump.
Young Thug and his favorite producer London on da Track link up with “I Swear to God” which may or may not appear on he and Rich Homie Quan’s Rich Gang: Tha Tour Part 1 sequel. Listen after the jump!
Young Thug and Birdman drop the visuals for the Rich Gang Tha Tour Pt. 1 cut “Givenchy.” It’s flashy, exuberant, and certainly excessive. What more do you want? Peep the visuals after the jump.
Lil Wayne preps the release of his forthcoming Sorry 4 The Wait 2 mixtape amidst the battle over the release of his (currently) pending Tha Carter V album. And to tease the forthcoming Sorry 4 The Wait 2 mixtape he is sharing a freestyle over Future’s Mike WiLL Made It-produced “Sh!t” instrumental. Listen after the jump.
Thanksgiving is here! Thanksgiving is here! But it’s not all fun and games and stuffing your face with food. While we sit comfortably in our humble abode with our loved ones, celebrating with a feast, there are those who go out and make sure to help those in need. Sadly, however, rappers aren’t exactly the first profession that’d cross your mind as being “helpful” as these are merely gangsters, drug dealers, and entertainers, right? Wrong. For example Birdman and Cash Money are participating in their 20th annual Turkey Giveaway this week. And that’s not all, as rappers like Jeezy, T.I., and Ludacris regularly find themselves helping local Atlanta natives enjoy their Thanksgiving as well. So, we here at iHipHop decided we’d attempt to dispel the myths of rappers being careless and lazy, and showcase their good deeds, by assembling a picture slideshow of them giving back on Thanksgiving. Enjoy and happy Thanksgiving!
They’ve done did a lot of sh*t just to live this here lifestyle. Birdman’s Rich Gang returns today with The Tour Part 1 featuring young Atlanta stalwarts, Young Thug and Rich Homie Quan. The mixtape comes neatly wrapped with twenty total tracks and is currently available for stream/download. Check it out after the jump.
