It appears as though Jay Rock is up next in the Top Dawg Entertainment camp. After low-key releasing the rap song of the year when everyone was least expecting in “Parental Advisory” he followed that up with the Kendrick Lamar featured track “Pay for It” which, needless to say, was also fire. However, the song was met with a less than stellar reception with many fans unsure of the direction Kendrick was going on following the hugely successful good kid m.A.A.d city. Perhaps Kendrick felt the sting of the fans and media because he absolutely snaps on this Power 106 Los Angeles radio freestyle. It’s been over a month since Kendrick Lamar shook the Rap world to its very foundations with his verse on Big Sean’s “Control”. If you have been hiding under a rock and have not heard the song, Kendrick claims the title of King of New York while appearing to take shots at J. Cole, Big K.R.I.T., Wale, Pusha T, Meek Mill, A$AP Rocky, Drake, Big Sean, Jay Electronica, Tyler, The Creator and Mac Miller. Rappers from every section of the globe bolted to their Twitter accounts and their soundproof studio booths to respond to the Compton native’s jabs.
