This is one of the best videos I ever found. Videos like this are the reason I love the internet. I found this a while ago. This is the Nas Electronic Press Kit for his debut album “Illmatic”, my (and a lot of other peoples) favorite hip hop album of all time. This video is wild. It features the production lineup from the album (Dj Premier, Large Professor, Q Tip & Pete Rock) discussing Nas and the making of the album. It also features Nas’ original home Queensbridge Projects and a cast of people that live there. This was the begining of a new era in rap that came as quick as it went. Enjoy. -Cinematic
It seems like it’s been decades since we saw an album from Eminem. From rumored tracks with T.I. to DJ Premier, Em has got fans excited again for his return. It’s going to be big – and actually possible, unlike Dr. Dre’s Detox. 50 recently gave in interview in which he told ITN News that the world “will be seeing him shortly,” and “even though he tries to relax and stay home, it’s impossible for him to stay in.” Glad to hear Em is back in grind mode and is yet again becoming a lab rat. Come back for more news on Em’s album.
Star Trak signee Rosco P. Coldchain made waves a few years back with features on Clones and Lord Willin’. I personally really liked him and thought he had great potential, but his album got shelved after Aristsa/Interscope merged. He’s now planning his long-awaited album and is supposedly working with DJ Premier for the entire album. In the interview, Rosco said, “Yes people, it’s official, me and Premo are back at it. Premo is the best thing to happen to me since stink on shit and swiss cheese. Ya dig? He might be doing my whole muthafuckin’ album. I’m trying to keep busy.” Rosco is a talented artists, and this would be a huge album if it actually happens. Stay tuned for more info on the Rosco/Premo album. perspective‘s two cents: I’m going to give you a track I like from Rosco. It’s called “Disappointment” and it’s pretty sick. He has some other sick song that i’m now trying to find on the internet somewhere. For now this will do. I think he jacked his name from some show, but I still like it. Rappers need to be more creative with their names. Edit: I still can’t find the song I’m looking for, but here is another Rosco joint. “Disappointment”- Rosco P. Just 13 days after the patiently-awaited Untitled finally dropped, Nas is planning on staying busy in the near future. In an interview last week, Nas said he’d like to do an entire album with DJ Premier, an entire album with Dr. Dre, and drop them both on the same day. Though Nas hasn’t collaborated with DJ Premier in quite some time, the two seem to still have a mutual respect for one another and a working relationship that could actually possibly make this happen. As far as Dre, he’s been one of the most quiet producers in the game over the past years, and that album may be a little harder to see through. Regardless, to add onto Nas’s tall order, he told MTV he’d like to do an entire album with Kelis. Whether or not these exclusive collaborations will ever see the light of day remains to be seen, but after dropping Hip Hop is Dead and Untitled, you can’t really count Nas out.
