After delivering an appreciation letter to his fans via his blog, J. Cole dropped the new FreeEp, Truly Yours, today. Even though the release of Truly Yours was truly unexpected, there’s no way anyone could be mad at some new (let alone free) material from the Prince of the Roc. The whole release sounds like vintage J. Cole, so if you’re a fan you definitely won’t be disappointed with this short listen. (more…)

The KushedGod returns with his latest FreeEP, Cuz I Felt Like It.  According to DZA, he was inspired by fellow Jet Life member, Young Roddy, who dropped his debut mixtape over the weekend.  The tape features DZA going in over familiar instrumentals such as Action Bronson and Riff Raff’s “Bird on a Wire,” Schoolboy Q’s “Hands on the Wheel” and Azealia Banks’ “212.”  Apparently the cover art, minus Smoke DZA, was floating around Tumblr for a minute, but props to DZA for using it because it’s really one of the best covers I’ve seen all year.  If you haven’t already, you need to cop Smoke’s 2011 album, Rolling Stoned.  DZA is currently working on his upcoming album, Rugby Thompson.
