This is a hot trio, I have to admit. I really like the idea of TI rapping over a Just Blaze beat, and I assume he can kill it like most other rappers Justin works with. And Rihanna is always good on collabs – it seems that she never learned how to make a record not a hit. Download below and let us know what you think of TI‘s latest track off Paper Trail. Very positive feel to this track. perspective‘s two cents: I fixed the link, and threw in a preview link as well.. Just Blaze is sampling some techno song and it’s driving me crazy that I can’t figure out which one. It’s kind of intersting how T.I.’s style has evolved from Trap Muzik (his best album hands down) to Paper Trail. He’s just getting his grown man on as he should. TI feat. LL has been releasing some tracks from his upcoming final album Exit 13 lately, and the latest installment is “Feel My Heart Beat” featuring 50 Cent. The track is pretty bouncy and sound like it could be a single, and 50 lends yet another quality hook to his cohort. The idea of the song is LL hitting on a girl, apparently. I have to admit, I hate when rappers have wives and children and are still rapping about this shit, but so be it. He’s not the first, and he won’t be the last. So download the track below and let us know what you guys think. perspective‘s two cents: Twenty bucks says these guys spent 20 minutes in front of the mirror admiring each others pecs, and then made out just to see what it would feel like. Four of the most relevant and popular hip-hoppers out have come together for a classic track – entitled “Swagger Like Us.” Kanye West, TI, Jay-Z and Lil’ Wayne! This track is ridiculous. Download link below, and let us know what you guys think of this collaboration over an M.I.A. sample. perspective edit: I updated the link, so that you can snag this track. Plus I tossed in a preview link. I’m going to have to disagree with Dan, and say this track is a little dissapointing. I think my expectations were to high after hearing about the existence of this track. Still worth snagging. “S.L.U. Not quite sure how true this is, but a source has informed me that Jay Z might be appearing with Oasis when they hit the road in the UK on October 7th. It was Oasis member Noel Gallagher who openly voiced his disapproval of Jigga being the main act at Glastonbury this year, only to go a head and say that his comments were totally taken out of context after the Marcy projects rapper gave a stellar performance appreciated by the 100,000 audience at the festival in June this year. The Oasis tour which will see the Manchester based band play 18 shows was sold out within an hour of tickets going on sale. Jay Z has allegedly since spoke with Oasis, whose track Wonderwall went straight back into the charts after Jay opened his set at Glastonbury singing the 1995 Number one, since his performance at the annual festival. So it wouldn’t really come as a surprise if Jigga was to come out on stage anyway at one of their shows, just hope he brushes up on his singing and guitar skills before hand.
Seriously the ego has landed. We had Jay Z last week and now the Compton rapper is saying that Dre’s project would be an ‘injustice to the producer if it didn’t feature him (Game). As according to Game himself, he quite simply is..the West Coast. I truly hope for his sake LAX is his best album to date as for all the trash this dude is talking you know people are just waiting in the wings to take aim at him.
Looks like things are really not working out for Dame Dash since he and Jigga parted ways. Due to not paying his mortgage on two trendy Manhattan apartments it looks like the once brain of the Roc is going to have to face the courts in regards to the matter. Dash also owes back taxes and those late fees are mounting up. That hat might come in handy if he ends up in a cardboard box.
Looks like that Vitamin Water deal really did pay off for 50 who landed in the number one spot for those getting paid in Hip-Hop list this year. He earned $150 mill in only 12 months. See the rest of the list compiled by Forbes magazine right here 1) 50 Cent – $150 mill 2) Jay Z – $82 mill 3) Diddy – $35 mill 4) Kanye – $30 mill 5) Timbaland – $22 mill 6) Pharrell Williams – $20 mill 7) Swizz Beats – $17 mill Snoop Dogg – $16 mill 9) Dr. Dre – $15 mill 10) Ludacris – $14 mill 11) T.I. – $13 mill 11) Lil Wayne – $13 mill 12) Eminem – $12 mill 12) Common – $10 mill 12) Akon – $12 mill 13) Jermaine Dupri – $11 mill 13) Lil Jon – $11 mill 14) Outkast – $10 mill 14) Chamillionaire – $10 mill 14) The Game – $10 mill
Game knows how to stir up some buzz for himself I give him that. In a recent interview on Kiss 104.7 the outspoken rapper said that Jigga has to be literally shaking in his shoes when it comes to having beef with him. Game is convinced that Jigga just doesn’t want it with him even though Jigga said while in London this Summer that ‘Game should just commit suicide’. As he talked to Chino the Kiss co-host, Game sounded quite shocked that ‘Lips,’ as he now calls Jigga, had made comments about him but he was giving himself a pat on the back for killing G- Unit thats for sure. Will J buy into the hype and come at Game like you know the Compton rapper wants him to? He even said it himself, he has his album dropping on August 26th and is happy to lyrically destroy anyone who comes up against him. Alrighty then
No wonder this dude is looking so smug nowadays…word on the street is that Jigga is about to make himself a $44 million when he sells a 50% stake of his Las Vegas 40/40 club to the Las Vegas Sands Corp which owns a slew of hotels across the world including The Venetian in Vegas. Looks like Jay is cashing in his chips…wonder what he will be up to next. The deal would give the Sands Corp the right to build 40/40 in London and throughout Europe, where Jay was looking to spread his wings too next.
Here is a brief update as to what our fave celebs are up to when it comes to their business. Sean Combs – He may be unlucky in love but he sure is successful when it comes to his smells. After the success of Sean John, Diddy has gone on to develop yet another fragrance. This one is called I am King…not too sure about the name, but then wasn’t too stuck on the shiny suits either but they def made a lasting impression. Beyonce – Shame Jayonce hasn’t had the success with her clothing line that her husband has had with his. Word is, House of Dereon is closing its doors and I can’t say I am surprised as some of the lines available from the Knowles women were not what you would expect from a fashionista such as Bey Z. Def Jam – Take away the new age King and Queen of R&B Ne Yo and Rihanna, Def Jam really isn’t doing much these days but to add a new twist to their marketing and promotions they are planning on utilizing the big screen to promote up and coming albums from their artists by previewing their videos before, during and after movies. I am sure Meth, the Roots and Ghostface are on the top of the list to recieve that extra boost. Lil Jon – The King of Crunk has managed to secure his masters in his new deal with Orchard, the company that bought out TVT earlier this year. Nice to see labels making situations somewhat easier for artists.
Word on the street is that the infamous Live Nation deal that Jay Z was supposed to sign may end up being the deal that never was. The $150 million dollar deal that had media outlets hopping back in April as it would be the biggest deal ever planned for the company who is a spin off of Clear Channel Communications. Talk of the town is that Jay might be headed over to Warner Music Group where his old homie Lyor Cohen is situated.
Hey world, this is iHipHop writer/blogger Dan, coming to you straight from Russia. I am away for a few weeks, and have not contributed in a few days if you haven’t noticed, but I am reporting at 3:30 AM local time to bring you news on The Blueprint 3! So, at Kanye’s last GITD stop in NYC, he brought out Jay-Z to perform a track entitled “Jockin’ Jay-Z,” before which he announced Blueprint 3 was on the way. Now, DJ Mick Boogie has come out and told the world that The Blueprint 3 is entirely produced by Kanye, not Timbaland! Turns out, Kanye was out in Hawaii and he produced the entire album, and it’s set to drop in the first week of December. We all know Jigga is a 4th quarter man, and if you’re like me and you couldn’t wait till ’09 for another album, rejoice! A few months back, I told told co-workers that it seemed like Jay couldn’t wait another year to drop another album, and gladly I was right. Kanye has produced hits like “Heart of the City,” “Encore” and “This Can’t be Life” for Jay, so this album should be absolutely retarded, in a good way. Check out the video link here to hear a snippet of “Jockin Jay-Z.” Thought the track is not typical Kanye soul-inspired, it’s fu*king hard and hot. News like this makes me excited about hip-hop and music in general. “They should’ve told that bloke from Oasis I’m a rockstar!” – God MC, J-Hova
Funny how people sometimes end up eating their words or in this case say their words were taken the wrong way. Noel Gallagher, the Oasis front man who spoke out about Hip-Hop being a part of Glastonbury is now recanting his speech after Jay Z had the 100,000 plus crowd rocking to tracks like Hard Knock Life, Encore and of course his very own rendition of the Oasis track Wonderwall. After Jay performed at Glastonbury in late June, Wonderwall re-entered the charts in the UK, and of course Noel Gallagher can’t not acknowledge that. In a recent interview Gallagher had this to say “My f****** single went back in the charts, Jay-Z’s profile went through the f****** roof. Everyone’s a winner. He knows that I was misrepresented, as I guess he was, so let’s f****** move on.” I guess that will do as an apology.
A few years ago, Papoose was the biggest artist to come out of New York since…possibly Jay-Z. With unbelievable potential, a ridiculous flow, clever vocabulary, hilarious punchlines and a dinstinct voice, Pap was poised to bring hip-hop back to New York in a major way. He even aligned himself with heavyweights like Busta Rhymes and DJ Kay Slay to insure his rise. However, a few years, a lot of mixtapes, and a hefty fall from relevance later, Pap is apparently still making music. I have to say, I was really excited about Papoose when he first came out, and his album, Nacirema Dream, was one I was ready to shell out some cash for. But, after this long, I think I speak for all of his fans in saying I just don’t care anymore, because too much other good music has come and gone. To give Pap another chance, check out his new track “Get it Poppin Again” below, and let us know what you think. Papoose – Get it Poppin Again
