A few months back, Jermaine Dupri started TAG Records, as a side project for the health & beauty supplies company. The idea was artists are supposed to make music on the label, and meanwhile promote the message of TAG. Now, the idea seems to be coming to fruition. It’s been announced that TAG has its first artist – Q, and he will soon be getting his own MTV show. The show is tentatively titled “Livin’ the Dream” and is set to air on September 15th. With all of Proctor & Gamble’s budget in tow, it just may work out for Q. But, in all honesty, whose tha last quality act JD actually brought about? Dem Franchize Boyz? Not so much. Chicago femcee Da Brat has just been sentenced to three years behind bars and a further seven years probation for attacking a waitress in a nightclub last year with a bottle. Looks like things can’t get much worse for the McCoy girls right now.
The alleged attack happened when a waitress at Jermaine Dupri’s Studio 72 failed to respond to Da Brat, born Shawnte Harris’s advances. The victim, a former cheer leader suffered permanent scarring from the attack. Da Brats family were in the Dekalb County, Georgia courtroom when she was sentenced.
