Brooklyn rapper Mos Def was a lil upset at Magic this weekend in Vegas and allegedly lashed out at someone who was just taking a pic of one half of Black Star. The victim who is pressing charges against the rapper suffered a cut to the eye as Mos yanked the camera out of their hands while happily snapping celebs at the notorious trade show which took place in Vegas over the last few days. The infamous trade show is one of the most influential in the world where fashion houses display their new lines for the up coming seasons each August and February.
Jay-Z and his business partners have officially announced the sale of the 40/40 Club in Las Vegas for an undetermined amount. The 24,000 square foot sports bar located in The Palazzo Casino will not operate under the 40/40 brand, as the sale is only for the lease of the building. Mr. Carter said in a released statement: “The sale is a great business decision, we are delighted. We look forward to expanding the brand even further to Chicago and Tokyo”. No wonder this dude is looking so smug nowadays…word on the street is that Jigga is about to make himself a $44 million when he sells a 50% stake of his Las Vegas 40/40 club to the Las Vegas Sands Corp which owns a slew of hotels across the world including The Venetian in Vegas. Looks like Jay is cashing in his chips…wonder what he will be up to next. The deal would give the Sands Corp the right to build 40/40 in London and throughout Europe, where Jay was looking to spread his wings too next.
Bay Area rapper Mac Minister was found guilty yesterday of murdering Kansas City rapper Fat Tone and one of his associates in retaliation for the murder of fellow Bay rapper Mac Dre back in 2004. Fat Tone and Jermaine Akins were found shot dead in 2005 after allegedly leaving a club in Las Vegas with Mac Minister. He now faces life imprisonment. The only album ever released by Mac Minister was the 2006 Minister of Defense album which featured appearances by Too $hort, San Quinn and B-Legit.
