Singer-turned-actor, Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon paid homage to some of the greatest rappers again with History of Rap 2. I’m not mad at it, if anyone could cover rap songs without making it look corny, it’s got to be JT. This time the two opened and closed with hip hop classic, “The Breaks” by Kurtis Blow. They went through the timeline of hip hop’s greatest: Vanilla Ice, Salt-N-Pepa, DMX, Cypress Hill all the way to Weezy, Rick Ross and 50 Cent. After talking about Big Meech and teaching everyone how to dougie, they zoomed back to the time of romantic woes with Biz Markie’s “Just A Friend.” I always enjoy a comedic musical number.
