Despite residing from essentially the same place (Coney Island, Brooklyn) and sharing virtually the same exact cultural background (Ukrainian-American) I never really messed with rising rapper Your Old Droog all that much. I mean, in the interest of full disclosure and not frontin’, I think dude is super talented and a great altogether MC but frankly I’m not “feeling” it, you know? I always find the beats to be dated and seriously lackluster and I can never quite relate to Your Old Droog. Like, who is Droog? But this track right here, with its super kitschy and ultra NYC-indebted song title, is right up my alley, fam. Droog delivers the goods with “Unlimited MetroCard” which is produced by the always reliable Statik Selektah. Check out “Unlimitated MetroCard” after the jump and peep Statik’s new album Lucky 7 dropping this July.

So apparently, A$AP Rocky, who was riding around London had an object hurrled at his car. This prompted Rocky and crew to follow the alleged assailant into a bagel shop and confront him. Rocky, who is from Harlem, put on his best Harlem tough guy pose and went at the guy, giving him a ear full, and threatened to put hands on him. Rocky cooled off and walked away. However, the man (or men?) in the bagel shop had some choice words for Rocky as well. The title of the video, by the way, is “ASAP Rocky Running Gums in London” so clearly the people in that bagel shop weren’t exactly “cool” with the A$AP Mob all-star. Check out the full video of the confrontation after the jump.

Fabolous’ ongoing #FridayNightFreestyles has been a relative success thus far but with this new one right here it’s either make it or break it for how you feel about Loso. Sure, he’s already gone over an undisputed classic in his “B.A.S.” freestyle but Mobb Deep’s 1994 cut “Shook Ones Pt. II” is a milestone/watershed moment for hip-hop. It’s such a statement in hip-hop culture that even one iconic Detroit rapper Eminem has stated numerous times that its had a profound impact on him. In fact, you may recall Eminem’s “B-Rabbit” character from 8 Mile rapping over the track during his final freestyle battle. Anyway, if Loso doesn’t deliver and do this classic instrumental justice then his whole #FridayNightFreestyles is moot. You be the judge after the jump.
