Over Memorial Day weekend, Rhymesayers’ Soundset Festival returned to Canterbury Park to bring hip-hop to concertgoers in Minneapolis. The hometown favorite Atmosphere shared the headlining duties with Snoop Dogg, while Juicy J, Mac Miller, Tech N9ne, Brother Ali, Joey Bada$$, ScHoolboy Q and more also performed. The Downtown Music festival returned to New York CIty on May 10, 2013 to highlight a selection of buzzworthy artists from across the country. The evening started out at Element where Earl Sweatshirt, Ryan Hemsworth, and Antwon performed. The festivities continued at Capitale where Black Hippy was in attendance and ScHoolboy Q played an extended set. XXL drops the second of the 2013 Freshmen Cyphers, this time featuring Kirko Bangz, Trinidad James, and Q over production from v12 The Hitman. This would’ve been a lot better (and less painful) had Q just handled the whole thing himself.
Once a year, Austin, TX transforms into the music capital of the world during the annual SXSW Music Festival. This year was no exception, as fans in attendance were able to experience countless live performances from sunrise to sunset each day, with numerous showcases and lively parties throughout the city. Amidst all of the amazing showcases, ridiculous parties and crowded streets, iHipHop was on-hand to capture all of the weeks’ events.
