I fux with this right here. It’s heavy and tingly like a smoker’s day dream. These Left Coasters and Sir Michael Rocks (of the Cool Kids) created something really distinct by joining up and it needs to continue. Pretty crazy that it’s been two decades since 1994 and the release of Illmatic. Google Play catches up with Kendrick, ScHoolboy Q, Jay Rock, Peter Rosenberg and Nas himself in this fifteen minute mini-documentary. The artists reflect on the career of Nas and the impact he’s had on the landscape of hip-hop. Illmatic XX hits stores next Tuesday (4/15).

Rockie Fresh has had quite the eventful week. As a precursor to the release of his highly-anticiapted mixtape, “Electric HIghway,” Rockie held an exclusive audio-visual event entitled “Electric Highway 3D Visual Listening Experience” at SoHo’s Landmark Sunshine Cinemas. The Visual Experience was hosted by Shaheem Reid and was attended by Diggy Simmons, Vashtie, Chuck Creekmur ,r.O.b and took place on Thursday January 18th. Rockie then headlined New York’s SOBs on January 23rd to celebrate the release of “Electric Highway.” Sir Michael Rocks, Lunice and Sasha Go Hard also performed at that night’s event. If you haven’t already, you can download “Electric Highway” in our mixtape section on the homepage. All photos by Bernard Smalls.
