Royce da 5’9″ and DJ Premier have been keeping busy for the last few months, working on the release of their collaborative album PRhyme. The tandem of Royce and Premo have teased a few tracks, including the intro cut and “Courtesy” as well as the visuals for “U Loopz.” The project is duo out December 9th but you’re in luck as they’ve made it available for stream via NPR right now. Sometimes wish there were separate Rap Awards for things like this…radio freestyling. Slaughterhouse does it probably better than anyone else who’s ever done it as a group. Maybe Wu Tang is in the picture if you edit them down to their giants. These guys are a class unto themselves though. They don’t need to make songs.

It’s been over a month since Kendrick Lamar shook the Rap world to its very foundations with his verse on Big Sean’s “Control”. If you have been hiding under a rock and have not heard the song, Kendrick claims the title of King of New York while appearing to take shots at J. Cole, Big K.R.I.T., Wale, Pusha T, Meek Mill, A$AP Rocky, Drake, Big Sean, Jay Electronica, Tyler, The Creator and Mac Miller. Rappers from every section of the globe bolted to their Twitter accounts and their soundproof studio booths to respond to the Compton native’s jabs. Some applauded Kendrick for giving rap a much needed shot in the arm, while others took things a bit more personally and made response records. Read More
