Over the last few weeks T.I. has been hinting at the release of a new project with the hashtag 9/11. And today is the day. T.I., or Tip in this case, is back. He’s dropped a new project in Da Nic EP and is also sharing a track off it in “Peanut Butter & Jelly” featuring Young Thug and Young Dro. The track is also produced by frequent Thug collaborator, London on da Track. Listen to “Peanut Butter & Jelly” after the jump.
A new T.I. project may be in the works after the Atlanta rapper sent out a string of tweets with the hashtag “911” attached to each of them. But today we don’t have a new Tip project for you, but what we do have is a new Tip track. That’s still something! “Check, Run It” currently doesn’t have a home although it could appear on a forthcoming project. Who knows? Listen to T.I.’s “Check, Run It” after the jump.
T.I. is all over Travi$ Scott’s Rodeo, which is out in a few days (it’ll be out officially on the 4th) and today he’s unleashing a rather dated freestyle over “Flicka Da Wrist,” which if you’re into those sorts of things, you can listen after the jump.
Troy Ave is joined by Young Dolph, T.I. and Young Lito for a remix of his Major Without a Deal cut, “Real N*gga.” Dolph, who recently put out his 16 Zips mixtape, comes through with a great verse. But it’s really T.I. who has the showstopping verse, which you won’t want to miss. Listen to Ave’s “Real N*gga” remix after the jump.
After T.I. and David Banner jumped on Kap G’s “La Policia” remix they were invited onto CNN to discuss police brutality with correspondent, Don Lemon. During their discussion Kap G goes on to recount an incident a couple years ago when he was racially profiled and unjustly searched by a police officer, and how it inspired him to write “Policia.” Check out the full discussion on police brutality with T.I. and Kap G after the jump.
The recent situation between Young Thug and Lil Wayne is escalating albeit in a confusing manner. Here’s the breakdown: Lil Wayne doesn’t want to be part of Birdman’s YMCMB, Wayne’s highly-anticipated studio album Tha Carter V is put on hold, Young Thug is putting out his debut album entitled Carter 6 in tribute to Wayne, Wayne doesn’t like it and calls out Thug, Thug responds by saying he doesn’t want any problems and reiterates that the newly titled Barter 6 is a tribute to Wayne. Did you get all of that? Good. Now, T.I. decided to share his thoughts on the matter with DJ Whoo Kid. Find out in the clip after the jump.
Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart have a new movie out today. Go Hard is currently in theaters and T.I. is providing some music for the official soundtrack. It’s worth noting that Tip is also part of the cast as Russell, a family member of Kevin Hart’s character Darnell. Check out T.I.’s “I Go Hard” from the Go Hard soundtrack after the jump.
T.I. and Young Thug struck gold with “About the Money” in 2014 and would team up once again for “We Want War.” So it was inevitable the two ATLiens would dap it up and release more music together. And today T.I. and Thugger share “Off-Set” a track from the soundtrack to the upcoming Furious 7 film, which hits theaters on April 3rd. Listen to “Off-Set” after the jump.
Thanksgiving is here! Thanksgiving is here! But it’s not all fun and games and stuffing your face with food. While we sit comfortably in our humble abode with our loved ones, celebrating with a feast, there are those who go out and make sure to help those in need. Sadly, however, rappers aren’t exactly the first profession that’d cross your mind as being “helpful” as these are merely gangsters, drug dealers, and entertainers, right? Wrong. For example Birdman and Cash Money are participating in their 20th annual Turkey Giveaway this week. And that’s not all, as rappers like Jeezy, T.I., and Ludacris regularly find themselves helping local Atlanta natives enjoy their Thanksgiving as well. So, we here at iHipHop decided we’d attempt to dispel the myths of rappers being careless and lazy, and showcase their good deeds, by assembling a picture slideshow of them giving back on Thanksgiving. Enjoy and happy Thanksgiving!
After revealing the prospects of a joint album with Jeezy, T.I. reveals a secret stash track entitled “Handling My Business” which features Tip rapping over Jeezy’s “Enough” from his Seen It All album. Listen after the jump.
For the official “About the Money” remix T.I. recruits some heavyweights. Lil Wayne and Jeezy join Tip and Young Thug to complete this Southern hip-hop coalition. Now all that’s missing from this is Juicy J doing some adlibs. Peep the “About the Money” remix after the jump.
The 2014 BET Hip Hop Awards have wrapped up and though we’re sure you’d rather be watching the cyphers the live performances aren’t that bad. And this year BET brought out the big guns of the modern era, including Bobby Shmurda, Young Thug, Rich Homie Quan, and Migos. Perhaps the biggest takeaway during this was that the young stalwart from the ghettos of East NY, Brooklyn Bobby Shmurda closed the event with his hit single “Hot N***a”, an incredible feat for someone who literally blew up over the summertime. Check out the live videos after the jump.
