Only posting to ask this question: Is Tyga the worst rapper of all-time? I mean that, in like, a nutshell. While he’s certainly not the worst at rapping or putting together lyrics, he is perhaps the worst, most vilified individual existing within the parameters of rap music. And even then he barely has anything worthwhile to contribute as a rapper. (Shut up, “Hookah” was a Young Thug track and you know it.) In fact, he accomplishes the bare minimum of what it means to be a rapper. Anyway, here’s a video for some song called “Rap $tar,” which you may or may not wanna listen to. I don’t even know — you decide for yourselves. After the jump…
Travis Barker, drummer for pop punk band Blink-182, is perhaps the last name you’d think you’d find on a hip hop based website. But in all honesty the dude has a passion for music and has been known to post covers of popular rap songs. He’s done everything from Soulja Boy’s 2007 hit “Crank That” to Eminem’s “3am.” And he’s even released a full length album with all the tracks having a rapper as a guest feature — there was Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Swizz Beatz & Game — and that was only on one song. Crazy. And here he’s teaming up with Kid Ink, Ty Dolla $ign, IAMSU!, and Tyga for “100.” Check it after the jump.
Tyga’s still trying to get his album released even though it isn’t looking too good for the young rapper. But he’s still churning out music for anyone willing to listen. Here, on “Pleazer,” Tyga is joined by Boosie Badazz (who dropped a dope album last month in Touch Down 2 Cause Hell) with production from FKi. Check it out after the jump.
The upcoming motion picture film, Furious 7, is out April 3rd and the first single off of the soundtrack is a collaboration between Kid Ink, Wale, Tyga, YG and Rich Homie Quan. The track is conveniently entitled “Ride Out” and can be heard after the jump.
Chris Brown and Tyga’s Fan of a Fan: The Album is due out February 24th and for their latest cut “B*tches N Marijuana” they are joined by TDE’s grooviest, ScHoolboy Q. Listen to “B*tches N Marijuana” after the jump.
Chris Brown and Tyga are prepping the release of their collaborative project entitled Fan of a Fan 2 and in the meantime the duo is sharing its first single “Ayo.” While Fan of a Fan 2 is forthcoming with no release date you can go ahead and stream “Ayo” after the jump.
Despite record label controversy Tyga is still releasing music and his visuals for “Make It Work” seems to find the Los Angeles rapper in that very mind frame. “Make It Work” depicts Tyga chilling and clubbing, not worrying about a thing. And though his forthcoming The Gold Album, won’t drop via YMCMB, T-Raww continues churning out its singles. Peep Tyga’s “Make It Work” after the jump.
Thanksgiving is here! Thanksgiving is here! But it’s not all fun and games and stuffing your face with food. While we sit comfortably in our humble abode with our loved ones, celebrating with a feast, there are those who go out and make sure to help those in need. Sadly, however, rappers aren’t exactly the first profession that’d cross your mind as being “helpful” as these are merely gangsters, drug dealers, and entertainers, right? Wrong. For example Birdman and Cash Money are participating in their 20th annual Turkey Giveaway this week. And that’s not all, as rappers like Jeezy, T.I., and Ludacris regularly find themselves helping local Atlanta natives enjoy their Thanksgiving as well. So, we here at iHipHop decided we’d attempt to dispel the myths of rappers being careless and lazy, and showcase their good deeds, by assembling a picture slideshow of them giving back on Thanksgiving. Enjoy and happy Thanksgiving!
Ever wonder what Chief Keef would sound like rap-singing over some SNES-style beats? Well, you don’t have to lose any sleep as he does just that on his new track “Now & Later”. Joining Keef on the track is West Coast’s Tyga who delivers some nasty porno raps over the video game beat provided by Da Brain. The track is set to appear on Sosa’s Thot Breaker due out Valentine’s Day 2015. Listen after the jump.
Tyga’s long gestating “40 Mill” track is finally here and much to our surprise it’s actually quite dope! The track, produced by Kanye West, Mike Dean, and Jess Jackson, is set to be the lead single for T-Raww’s forthcoming The Gold Album: 18th Dynasty album. However no release date for the album is in place yet as Tyga has been having some discrepancies with his label YMCMB, so much so that Nicki Minaj has even unfollowed Tyga on Twitter after he let loose on the label via a 140 character rant. Peep the cut after the jump.
The only thing Chris Brown has been loyal to these days has been the slammer, but that doesn’t stop the R&B singer from dropping a video for his buzzing single with Lil Wayne and *insert assorted guest here* (this version features Tyga). X coming soon.
