Thanksgiving is here! Thanksgiving is here! But it’s not all fun and games and stuffing your face with food. While we sit comfortably in our humble abode with our loved ones, celebrating with a feast, there are those who go out and make sure to help those in need. Sadly, however, rappers aren’t exactly the first profession that’d cross your mind as being “helpful” as these are merely gangsters, drug dealers, and entertainers, right? Wrong. For example Birdman and Cash Money are participating in their 20th annual Turkey Giveaway this week. And that’s not all, as rappers like Jeezy, T.I., and Ludacris regularly find themselves helping local Atlanta natives enjoy their Thanksgiving as well. So, we here at iHipHop decided we’d attempt to dispel the myths of rappers being careless and lazy, and showcase their good deeds, by assembling a picture slideshow of them giving back on Thanksgiving. Enjoy and happy Thanksgiving!
Sadly this song could not come at a more unfortunate time for Waka Flocka Flame seeing as he was recently arrested for attempting to board an airplane with a loaded handgun. Waka’s lifestyle choice cost him and as a result he’s sitting in a county jail. But that hasn’t stopped Waka or his management from dropping a new Flock remix of Rich Gang’s hugely successful smash “Lifestyle”. Listen after the jump.

The summer smash “No Flex Zone” by Rae Sremmurd has been remixed to death. However, one very notable person was conspicuously missing from the fray. Despite hinting at a remix of the song way back in July, Waka Flocka Flame has finally decided to drop it in September. Maybe that’s a good thing seeing as fall is here and we need that heat. Peep Waka’s remix of “No Flex Zone” after the jump.
Pretty sure the number of stabbings just increased with the release of this joint. A$AP Mob has so many low-key lyricists wrapped in their gangster packaging it’s always thrilling when they partner with other hidden scribes like Waka. Check out the EDM remix of “Murda Something” and call your local precinct to make sure everyone’s safe. After the jump.
What makes a summer song? It’s sweaty but never sad about it. The right summer smash makes you put the double-decker barbecue plate on your lawn chair, pour out something cool and get close to the speakers. It’s naked and unashamed, of course. The song’s gotta be loud. Not volume-wise either. You need to be able to open that sunroof, lower the windows on the highway and still annoy passersby with the bass drop. They’re great songs because they’re disposable songs. A summer jam is the wet wipe of music: refreshing as it is fleeting and oh so useful at the right time.
Load these songs into your playlist and be the DJ you always wanted for the weekend.
Waka levels the playing field by giving the fans his best bars ever. His new project “I Can’t Rap” features amazing rhymes and rhythms from the Southern bully himself. “Blatlanta” is one of the best works on it. Listen to stream after the jump.
This track is too turnt up, hence the title. Waka Flocka is consistently building a rep as a rapper who’s truly on the forefront of the sound-merger between Hip-Hop and EDM. In the past few months, we have seem him collaborate with producers who have made a name for themselves in this space such as Steve Aoki and Girl Talk.
