Melo-X is another rapper on the rise who’s part of the ever-growing organic hip-hop genre (i.e. Wale, Kid Cudi, Mickey Factz, etc.). Though there’s not too much music out from Melo-X, he recently released a new mixtape that basically flips Raphael Saadiq’s new album in its entirety. Charles Hamilton has been making waves recently after dropping several mixtapes and getting signed by Interscope Records. The young rapper is multi-talented – he song-writes, produces and raps, and is heavily influenced by gaming. In recent news, Hamilton has announced a planned Virtual Tour over the next months, that doesn’t include any physical venues. Confused? Well – Hamilton will team up with sites like OnSmash.com, OkayPlayer.com and NahRight.com, where new music from Hamilton will be streamed for two weeks. Users can also embed the music through their own Imeem accounts. Hamilton is planning to reach over 2 million new listeners. Let us know what you think, and if it will actually work. Maybe this is the new formula for artist’s to get rich. Hmm…
You may have heard of clothing company 10 Deep. Heck, almost anyone who dresses mildly urban has. But the boys based out of New York seem to getting bigger and bigger with time with celebrity co-signs from newcomers Kid Cudi and Wale. the company was started in 1995, and the brand focuses on clothing that “conjures thoughts of movements, individuals, and ideologies of days past and present,” according to the website. Either way, they have a lot of great custom tee’s, custom fitted’s and even vinyl dolls. Check out some pictures of the attire below, and the website here to discover more about 10 Deep. If you haven’t heard, drummer Travis Barker and the worldly renowned DJ AM have been collaborating quite a bit lately. They even perform live weekly out in LA, and if you haven’t seen videos, check them out here and here. Travis Barker has also been getting into a lot more hip-hop as of late and recently worked with Wale and The Game. So, it would make sense that a burgeoning producer like Trav and a superstar hip-hop DJ would make a great collaboration – and they really do. They just dropped a mixtape, entitled Fix Your Face, which dropped today. Download it below and let us know what you think, and if Trav should stick to rock.
