I can easily pick up on a fake/fair-weather fan. I suppose Young Thug’s fans are a good example of this as the 22-year-old Atlanta rapper continues to gain more and more traction as time goes by. Many of his so-called “fans” are quite disappointed that the emcee didn’t drop his highly-anticipated Slime Season mixtape on July 4th, as initially promised. But, really? He just dropped Barter 6 a few months ago — a project I am still enjoying immensely. But alas, Thug wasn’t just gonna keep you parched, as he drops the visuals for his Barter 6 cut, “With That.” Needless to say it’s a trip. Check it out after the jump.
Although Young Thug didn’t keep his promise on dropping his Slime Season mixtape on July 4th (unlike his idol, Lil Wayne, who dropped FWA as promised) he is sharing a new track. While “Paradise” is a loosie track from Thug, it’s bound to hold over even some of his most fervent fans. Check out Thug’s “Paradise” after the jump.
Rihanna is the source of inspiration for the latest Yo Gotti joint. Gotti, who shall be dropping his new album The Art of Hustle soon, is sharing his latest track — simply entitled “Rihanna” — featuring Atlanta’s premiere rapper, Young Thug. Listen to the new Gotti joint after the jump.
Young Thug and producer London on da Track will be dropping an exclusive collaborative mixtape on July 4th entitled Slime Season. So far, despite, having many songs leak prior, no songs have leaked off of Slime Season. But, here we are now with the first official cut from the mixtape and it’s called “Money.” Can you guess what it’s about? Listen after the jump.
After dropping his all-around great retail mixtape Barter 6 a few weeks back (read my review here) Young Thug returns with some new heat. “Love Me Forever” finds Thugger reunited with ATLien producer London on da Track and although it’s uncertain whether or not this track will appear on Thug’s forthcoming debut album HiTunes this track is sure to give fans something to enjoy in the meantime. Check out Young Thug’s “Love Me Forever” after the jump.
Young Thug’s retail debut is out now. It’s called Barter 6. It was going to be titled Carter 6 but a last minute lawsuit has prevented that from happening. Lil Wayne probably still isn’t happy about this. The album features guest spots from YMCMB owner Birdman, T.I., Boosie BadAzz, Young Dolph, and more. It’s got thirteen tracks total, which is pretty short for a mainstream retail release. And, honestly, it’s a pretty great album. You be the judge. Get it now on iTunes here and stream the full thing after the jump.
The recent situation between Young Thug and Lil Wayne is escalating albeit in a confusing manner. Here’s the breakdown: Lil Wayne doesn’t want to be part of Birdman’s YMCMB, Wayne’s highly-anticipated studio album Tha Carter V is put on hold, Young Thug is putting out his debut album entitled Carter 6 in tribute to Wayne, Wayne doesn’t like it and calls out Thug, Thug responds by saying he doesn’t want any problems and reiterates that the newly titled Barter 6 is a tribute to Wayne. Did you get all of that? Good. Now, T.I. decided to share his thoughts on the matter with DJ Whoo Kid. Find out in the clip after the jump.
With Lil Wayne, presumably Drake and Nicki Minaj and Rich Homie Quan now out it looks as if Birdman’s fullest attention is on New Atlanta’s superstar Young Thug. Thugger will be releasing Carter 6 later this year and with “Halftime,” “Beat It” and “Just Might Be” out the album is shaping out to be pretty dope thus far. And here Thugger is sharing “Check” another track that is said to appear on the forthcoming debut album. In the video Thugger and crew are just kicking back and having a good time on the Rich Gang tour bus. Check it after the jump!
It was just yesterday where Young Thug released two new tracks in “Halftime” and “Beat It.” The set of tracks was produced by Thugger’s go-to producer London on da Track. Today Thugger is sharing another new one in “Just Might Be.” This one is produced by one Wheezy. Kind of an ironic producer name/association given Lil Wayne’s recent discrepancies with YMCMB, the label Young Thug is currently signed to. Any who, check out “Just Might Be” after the jump.
With Young Thug on the road with Travi$ Scott for the Rodeo Tour Thugger is receiving exposure to new audiences. And as a result he and his team are leaking some new tunes. Two to be exact. The pair of “Halftime” and “Beat It” are produced by Thugger’s go to producer of the moment London on da Track. No wonder as to whether or not the tracks will appear on Young Thug’s Carter 6 album. Listen to both cuts after the jump.
Rich Homie Quan recently announced that he is officially splitting from Rich Gang (Young Thug and Birdman, being the other two members at the moment) to focus on his own brand. Quan didn’t exactly reveal any juicy details as to why, given his rapport with fellow Atlantan (and self-proclaimed “brother”) Young Thug. Could this be Rich Homie Quan’s answer to the recent, highly publicized squabble between Lil Wayne and Birdman? Who knows. There is no real, definitive answer as Quan has wisely kept his lips sealed on the matter. However, it’s worth noting that as soon as word got out about Quan’s departure a song entitled “My Homie” surfaced online. The song, as the internet collectively has noted is ironic, with both Quan and Thugger being on the track together. But we doubt there’s any beef, so to speak, between Rich Homie Quan and Young Thug, and we can probably expect more collaborations between the two. Anyway, enough gossip, check out “My Homie” after the jump.
T.I. and Young Thug struck gold with “About the Money” in 2014 and would team up once again for “We Want War.” So it was inevitable the two ATLiens would dap it up and release more music together. And today T.I. and Thugger share “Off-Set” a track from the soundtrack to the upcoming Furious 7 film, which hits theaters on April 3rd. Listen to “Off-Set” after the jump.
Young Thug and his favorite producer London on da Track link up with “I Swear to God” which may or may not appear on he and Rich Homie Quan’s Rich Gang: Tha Tour Part 1 sequel. Listen after the jump!
