A few nights ago, The New York Post published a story alleging that Talib Kweli was involved in a scuffle with his wife, DJ Eque, following a listening party for his forthcoming album.  Today, Talib finally spoke on the altercation, first via MissDimplez.com and then on Twitter.  Kweli’s first statement reads: “Although we argued none of the rest of it is true. I definitely did not did not say I would not have gotten married if it wasn’t for Hennessy. I wasn’t kicked out, the party had been over and the footage of what I actually said is on YouTube…”

DJ Eque also took to Twitter to deny the rumors, asserting, “my husband did not hit me & I didn’t go into rage and attack him over flirting??  That’s crazy.

I admit this sounds suspect, but who knows what really happened.  I know you shouldn’t believe everything you read, but why would the Post pen this story in the first place if it was completely fabricated?

Here’s the video of what Talib actually said at the release party.  Notice how it’s not the full Q&A session?  Regardless, this makes me look forward to Gutter Rainbows which drops January 25th
