The Daily Dose

.

Got some good stuff in this one.

.

-This Mikkey Halsted track is on some real shit.  I usually don’t like songs with long intro’s, but this actually fits into the song really well.  I like how they have the kids voice reading the letter, and then cycle in the adults voice.  I believe this is off Chicago: The Photo Album, which I believe is going to be given away for free, but i’m not sure.  Get familiar with Mikkey.

Triples C‘s.  We should all know by now that I hate everything they represent.  If they weren’t Rick Ross‘ boys would they have a major record deal? No they wouldn’t.  Check out their artwork and tracklist for Custom, Cars & Cycles.  I kind of like this song actually, but that is simply due to the Bun B feature.  But another question arises, why is Bun B doing a Triple C‘s feature.

Curren$y dropped an album today titled The Jet Files.  it’s pretty solid although my initial reaction is that This Ain’t No Mixtape is better.  Either way support the album here, and below I got the best track off the project in my opinion.  Track just has a really unique sound to it.  Check it out.

Royce has an album titled Street Hop which hits streets October 20th.  Album is executive produced by DJ Premier, which is obviously a good look.  I don’t know how necessary Busta is on this, but what do I know.

-Up next is another Slaughterhouse member, Crooked I, with a track off his Mr. Pig Face Weapon Waist EP.  I’m not sure what the street date is for this one, but It’s good to see him and Snoop overcome whatever differences they may have to be able to work together.  I think beef is about as cool as a hand job.

-It’s Freekey!  But does anyone care?  Freekey Zeekey is still the weirdest person I have met in hip-hop.  He made me uncomfortable in the way a parent gets uncomfortable around a pedophile.  That’s really the best way I can explain it.

-This Skeme character is from LA, and I’m telling you right now not to sleep on him.  I think he is doing a tape with Baron Davis which can be a good look.  Not because Baron Davis is qualified to orchestrate a good mixtape, but people will answer his phone calls who can.

Joell Ortiz recorded a mixtape on the road appropriately titled Road Kill.  This track is off it, and it’s nice.  Just realized we have 3/4 Slaughterhouse members in today’s dose.  Joe Budden the only one I don’t like isn’t included which is just fine by me.  By the way Joell is the nicest member of the bunch in this humble bloggers opinion.

-Saigon‘s Warning Shots 2 hit stores today.  This is off it.  I was having a whole conversation the other day about how Saigon might have lost his shot.  I feel like he started dropping albums once the most substantial amount of his “buzz” had already passed.  This rap game is all timing.
