I’m going to be real.  I really don’t like Plies.  He in my opinion is one of the more ignorant rappers out there that degrades the art of rapping.  I’ve heard this dude do interviews and he’s incredibly smart and well spoken so I don’t completely understand why he makes music like this.  I know I’m probably in the minority, feeling this way. Maybe I just don’t get his music, but I’m okay with that.  I’m gonna hate a little today.  These two tracks are off his new “Goon Affiliated” album, which dropped today.

While Games “R.E.D.” album is continually being pushed back, he’s still dropping singles to get one to stick so he can get a release date, because he apparently doesn’t believe in promotion.  This new track featuring T.I. and Robin Thicke is pretty hot and might help his cause.

Big Sean is pretty dope.  He was signed to Kanye’s GOOD Music in 2007, and signed with Island Def Jam in 2008.  This new track produced by Don Cannon is off of Big Sean’s upcoming mixtape Finally Famous Vol. 3.

This New Orleans collaboration courtesy of Curren$y & Fiend is pretty incredible.  Curren$y you are probably familiar with, I hope.  Fiend is on No Limit, and is a lyrical beast, you should get to know him more.  This tracks production definitely pays homage to the N.O. jazz scene.  If you don’t know about that watch HBO’s ‘Treme.”

Ya Boy is one of the newest editions to Konvict Music, and I think that’s a smart move for both of them.  This track is hot fire.  Head-nodding production and a lyrical one-two combo of catchy verses and hooks makes it hard to not take notice of this kid.  If you haven’t, check his 2010 EP “Gun’s & Roses”

Mickey Factz is a dude you should pay attention to.  He really only got into the music game about 2 years ago after dropping out of NYU Law School.  So obviously he’s not an idiot.  He managed to also create his own company GFC New York, which is a marketing, branding and styling business and label.  This is the first single off his upcoming album “The Achievement

I f*ck with Fred The Godson.  This Bronx powerhouse is seriously slept on.  His voice is incredible, and his flow and punch lines are vicious.  I really hope people begin to recognize this dudes skill.  I’ve been in the studio with this dude and he is SERIOUS.  Check this new track and his video for “Get ‘Em Fred.”

This whole Diggy phenomenon baffles me a little, but whatever, use your absurd connections, it’s what Donald Trump did.  This track with Bei Major is pretty serious nonetheless.  This beat is a good choice for these two to collaborate on.  Bei Major is a dude on the come-up and you should pay attention to him as well.  Let me know what you think.

Rhymefest never really blew up like everybody was expecting him to.  It’s not for lack of skill that’s for sure, as shown by this new track.  Hopefully this dude starts to get a little more love in the industry cause he’s pretty talented.  This is a bonus track off his new album “El Che” which dropped today.

Royce Da 5’9″ is a beast in my opinion.  This track on Drake’s “Find Your Love” is fire.  I would go so far as to say it’s better than the actual Drake song, but again maybe that’s because I’m a hater and I was expecting A LOT MORE from Drakes album.  Keep you ears open for more music from Royce as this dude is on his grind.

Joell Ortiz is the most underrated member of Slaughterhouse in my opinion.  He’s had some struggles in this industry but he’s always been putting in work and I respect that.  While this track isn’t the greatest thing I’ve heard from him, it’s a good party song nonetheless.  I’m looking forward to his new album “Free Agent” which drops June 15th.
