The Roots ft John Legend “The Fire” Video Trailer (Amazing)

This is going to set a new standard for music videos.  Rik Cordero is a genius as a director, and The Roots are by far one of the best groups in music today.  The trailer gives this video the feel of  a cinematic masterpiece, which is what I’ve been saying since they released the pictures from the shoot.  I can’t wait for the video to drop.  If you haven’t yet bought “How I Got Over” I don’t know what you’re doing with you life as a music lover.

Chance the Rapper Stars as Man Contemplating Suicide in New Short Film; Watch Trailer

Chance the Rapper has remained awfully quiet since he broke through with his excellent Acid Rap tape. His Surf project with Donnie Trumpet and The Social Experiment is forthcoming but for solo Chance there hasn't been much. He's kept busy with various other endeavors including acting. In Collin Tilley's short film called Mr. Happy, Chance the Rapper stars as Victor, a depressed guy who discovers a website—MrHappy.com—where he can hire a hitman to kill him. The 2014 BET Hip Hop Awards have wrapped up and though we're sure you'd rather be watching the cyphers the live performances aren't that bad. And this year BET brought out the big guns of the modern era, including Bobby Shmurda, Young Thug, Rich Homie Quan, and Migos. Perhaps the biggest takeaway during this was that the young stalwart from the ghettos of East NY, Brooklyn Bobby Shmurda closed the event with his hit single "Hot N***a", an incredible feat for someone who literally blew up over the summertime. Video: Jay Electronica Stars in New Film Into the Light; Watch the Trailer

Sorry, no new material here. The highly reclusive Jay Electronica may not be dropping new music any time (though he promised... on many occasions) but he is starring in an upcoming film. The film in question, Into the Light, directed by Jason Goldwatch and produced by Mass Appeal, will be released in 2015 and is of the experimental variety. Meaning the plot synopsis isn't quite clear, but what really is with Jay Elec nowadays? Watch the trailer for Into the Light after the jump.
