“Stay up like insomniacs/this life can make a n*gga fold like a laundromat”

J. Cole is probably the most celebrated lyricist of the past year without an official release date.  Despite constant push-backs, Cole excels every time he’s on a track and “Killers” is no different.  Spitting over a contemporary guitar sample, J drops bars from the perspective of a regretful murderer.  This song actually comes from a mixtape that will accompany Hip Hop inspired artist Alex Haldi’s ‘The Glorification of Gangster’ showcase which will be held on May 12, 2011 at New York City’s World Monuments Fund Gallery.  ‘The Glorification of Gangster’ will feature art pieces that explore the human fascination with organized crime.

Pharoahe Monch clearly isn’t a huge fan of swagged out rappers. He, Jean Grae and Royce Da 5’9” lay a lyrical beatdown on “Assassins.” This is just a taste of what you can expect when Pharaohe drops his third studio album, W.A.R. (We Are Renegades) on March 22nd. You can pre-order it on iTunes now

West Coast legend, Planet Asia, keeps it gutter for the first single from his hilariously-titled release, The Bar Mitzvah.  While he and Tragedy Khadafi hold it down, the late Killa Sha opens up the track with possibly one of his last unreleased verses.  The Bar Mitzvah EP is now available on iTunes…mazel tov!

This is some real Hip Hop ish!  Camp Lo and Pete Rock linked up to form a group known as 80 Blocks To Tiffany’s and this is the latest leak from their warm-up mixtape.  The beat is very minimalistic with hard-hitting drums and an occasional horn blaring.  Overall this track is short and sweet.
