jGersonIt seems like everyone wants a piece of Jay Electronica. After pledging allegation to the ROC, Jay Electra was courted by Pepsi’s marketing team for Mountain Dew’s latest Code Red campaign. The ad features Jay in his hometown of New Orleans performing “The Announcement” in front of a packed crowd at One Eyed Jacks. Halfway through the ad, Jay closes his eyes, the beat drops, the venue becomes empty. He escapes solitude by opening his eyes to the crowd’s eruption before claiming, “Hip Hop Is Different On My Mountain.” Pretty extreme, right?
