Tyler TV is About To Hit A Cable Box Near You?

Tyler Perry must definitely be on his way up. He reported may be following Oprah Winfrey’s step by launching his very own televison network called Tyler TV.

Lionsgate seems to be in on the deal as well:

“Tyler is one of those rare resources that one could launch a channel with,” said Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer. “We have a lot of options if we choose to go down that path.”

He is a rare piece of talent that can bring an audience anywhere,” said Feltheimer.

With already two successful shows “Meet The Browns” and “House Of Payne,” Tyler is already on his way to having a third show on TBS called “For Better Or Worse,” which will replaced “House Of Payne” in November.

The company doesn’t have any cash right now, but there seems to be hope that action will be taken soon. Tyler TV might have to purchase another channel and rebrand itself. The channel promises 12.2 million profit for Lionsgate.

According to New York Times, Tyler Perry definitely has a lot of programming to appear on his channel like his sitcoms and re-runs of his movies, “[t]hey also plan to buy third-party content that meshes with Mr. Perry’s Christianity-tinged brand.”

I wonder how Spike Lee feels about this one.
