What is Runk?  Mams Taylor, the Tehran-born, Mixed Martial Art (MMA)-trained, London Prep-school educated artist is hoping you’ll want to find out.  Having started out as a purveyor of porno mags and fake rolexes in high-school, this hustler DJ’d parties and sold roses on the street to support his own education… so, you can’t hate on his grind.

His album, “Persona Non Grata” (which means -“unwelcome person”) is supposed to be an outsider’s perspective on the posh life, informed by his own experience in a predominantly rich white environment growing up.  Do his “runk” tracks live up to the promise of a truly insurgent music, as his intro (which samples every kind of “minority” accent around) claims?  Check out a couple of tracks:

“Get Up On It” Featuring Game & Lil Kim (Prod. By Lil John)

“The Realest Alive” Featuring Fat Joe & West Coast Kam

A blend of Rap, Rock and Punk (what isn’t these days), Mams Taylor hooks his debut up with lots of impressive guest spots, with everyone from Snoop Dogg to Good Charlotte, and T-Pain to Travis Barker.  Check him out, and see what you think…Download The Revolution Of Runk
