A former associate of Diddy has filed a lawsuit against the rap mogul for more than $19 million. The associate, James Sabatino, claims that he arranged for the late Notorious B.I.G. to fly into Miami and record for Diddy. According to CBS, Sabatino, who is currently jailed for an unrelated incident, alleges that Diddy agreed to pay him $200,000 for the 17 minutes of vocals and video recording that emerged from the Biggie session.

Diddy reportedly paid Sabatino $25,000 and promised the remainder later. When Sabatino was named a “person of interest” in the wake of Biggie’s murder, however, the Bad Boy CEO supposedly delayed payment for fear of guilt by association.

Although a contract was never signed, Sabatino claims ownership of Biggie’s recordings since he shouldered the expenses and studio time.
