UPDATE: Reggae star Buju Banton was arrested last week for purchasing 5 kilos of cocaine in Florida. Details around the arrest are now surfacing and it’s being reported that Buju actually purchased the drugs from undercover DEA agents.
While speaking about purchasing the drugs, Buju was under surveillance by the DEA and police the whole time during the deal. After two more meetings, Buju was arrested along with his associates. He’s been charged with intent to distribute and possession.
He’s currently at Miami’s downtown detention center and a bail hearing has been set for Wednesday in Miami federal court. If found guilty he faces a minimum of 20 years in jail.
