Washington Redskins’ star Sean Taylor died on Tuesday after being shot during a burglary attempt at his home near Miami. 24-year old Taylor was at his home to check up on things when the fatal shooting occurred. According to his attorney, the home had been burglarized previously, and it appears Taylor was being targeted.
As previously reported, Miami-Dade police said they were called to Taylor’s house in Palmetto around 1:45 a.m. by his girlfriend who told them he had been shot by an intruder. He was reportedly shot in the groin area, which led to the severing of some major arteries. Taylor was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital but later died from excessive bleeding.
