After hearing Justin Bieber’s rap debut over his “Speaking In Tungs” instrumental yesterday, Vado was quick to praise the Canadian pop star. In an attempt to make a crossover single, Vado told NY Daily News, “we need to keep his verse for the remix! We might finish the remix this weekend.” While I think this is a good move for Vado’s career, I’m shocked that he said, “[Bieber] sounded like [Notorious] B.I.G.“ Really, Vado; Justin Bieber sounds like THIS? I don’t think so.
The sixteen year-old pop sensation has slowly gained acceptance from those in the mainstream Hip Hop community for his Ludacris-assisted “Baby” Remix and his hook on the Kanye West/Raekwon callabo “Runaway Love,” in which he sings over the instrumental from “Wu-Tang Clan Ain’t Nuthin Ta F*ck With.” Yesterday, he revealed a video of him inside a studio recording a verse in a rhyming alter-ego dubbed, “Shawty Mane.” I think Bieber should stay in his own lane and stick with singing so he doesn’t fizzle out like Aaron Carter.
