Videos That Make Hip-Hop Good

This first one is a music video from Donny Goines off of his Breakfast Club free project.  The video obviously didn’t have a crazy budget, but sometimes you have to make the best of the resources you have.  That is pretty much the definition of Donny Goines.  The song is dope at the end of the day.  One of my favorites in ’09 to be honest.  “We eat sushi, we get sleazy”- Izza Kizza.  Be sure to cop Breakfast Club already.

Cassidy just going the fuck in acapella style.  Cassidy is a little un-appreciated.  This is nice.  We need more of this.  Can your favorite rapper do this?  Probably not.

Up next we got Immortal Technique.  I don’t even really fuck with this guys music.  He’s too much of a conspiracy theorist for me.  That being said he has to be one of the most interesting people in hip-hop.  I mean the dude started a orphanage in Afghanistan of all places.  Anyway he starts off by talking about urban culture in a really interesting way.  I think he acknowledges some important facts of the culture (i.e. it’s not just for black people.)  Immortal also talks about how America is quietly re-locating it’s poor people from inner cities to the outside of cities.  He’s mainly talking about Harlem, but it’s seems to be happening in every major city.  I know it’s also happening in places like Boston, Chicago & Atlanta.  Check it out and gain some knowledge.

Malice has just been killing it in his Vlog series.  Here is number 5, and it’s kind of a poetry music video. I know that sounds gay, but it came out dope.

Jay Smooth from illdoctrine.com makes the most on point vlogs on the internet. This time he tackles the Michael Jackson situation, and also makes some really interesting points on MJ, and people’s personal attachment to media.  Really interesting.  My favorite part is when he talks about the lady who was just on the streets of Harlem jamming out to MJ music.  You can actually tell she isn’t doing it for the crowd but for MJ.  Check it out.
