Dazed recently published the cover story for their August 2015 issue and it follows none other than burgeoning Atlanta artist Young Thug. Thug has been known for freely speaking his mind — just as he does in his music — and as an obsessive user of social media he’s also gotten himself in a bit of hot water over some of his off-the-cuff comments.

But during his time with Dazed, Thug was documented going at both Lil Wayne and Drake’s songwriting abilities — claiming it takes them “so long” to make a song. He would know, he’s been in the studio with both artists. But he does give them their just due: “I understand why, because they want it to be perfect.” But this is relatively short lived when he finishes it off with “But I can write a perfect song in ten minutes.”

He also offers up some examples by telling Dazed journalist Patrik Sandberg he recorded some of his most well-known songs, including his biggest hit to date, in under an hour’s time. “I did ‘Danny Glover’ in eight minutes. ‘Stoner’ took me almost an hour,” says Thug.

What do you think of Young Thug’s recent comments on Lil Wayne and Drake? Do you agree or disagree? Sound off below.
